With the increase need for improve security, University of Hormozgan Cert (Known as Hormozgan APA) was founded in 2016 by support of Iran Information Technology Organization (ITO). This center is an academic CSIRT and works under the supervision of Iranian Cert coordination center in domains related to security methods, concerns, news, and so on. The main objectives of this center are as follows:

• Trains organizations in Hormozgan province to improve their security level
• Trains skilled students as experts in information security
• Acts as a Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) in Hormozgan province
• Prepares documents for organizations to better protect their IT infrastructures
• Monitors vulnerabilities in organizations
• Provides academic support for organizations in security incidents
• Improves security awareness
